Employee interview
Pontus Lönnberg
Pontus Lönnberg has been working in sales for OEM at Nomo in Sweden since January 2023. Helinä Ahonen, our previous guest in this series, asks: What is definitely better at Nomo compared to your previous job? Nomo’s strength is its broad product portfolio and that the company is multi-brand, working with different suppliers. This allows Nomo to be a holistic supplier to Nordic industry. What made you apply for a job at Nomo? I started in the ball bearing business in 2011, but had a break for five years while working on other things. I felt like I wanted to get back to my previous industry, because it's so interesting. It got me thinking about what I can do, want to do and what I appreciate about my job? What is it that you particularly appreciate? I am interested in technology and find it fun to see how different things are produced. My job involves being out and about a lot in various manufacturing industries. It's fun to be a link in that chain, to be able to add something valuable, have opportunities to influence and be able to contribute to the development of the customer's business. What is the driving force in your work? My motivation to be involved in finding and developing solutions that make the customer's applications even better. Being a service-oriented provider means working closely with customers where we together help to develop smart solutions. What is your customer segment? These are all kinds of companies in the manufacturing industry. What do you appreciate most in your work? Meeting customers, being out with customers. What are your personal strengths? I always try to see solutions instead of problems. I am driven, positive and committed to customer’s business. How has the experience of joining the Nomo team been? Everything has worked very well even though Nomo is a large organisation. I've felt very welcome in the team. What makes you happy? My happy place is riding a bike and exercise. Mostly I am a road cyclist, but also head out on nice trails with my gravel bike. Do you have spare time for anything else? We have a camper van so me and my wife visit different places around Sweden. What is your favourite food? I eat most things and appreciate fine dining at a restaurant. What is your best environmental tip for sustainable development? Obviously, I sort my rubbish for recycling and I drive a hybrid car. Our next guest will be Antti Sutela; Product Manager for seals at Nomo in Finland, what question would you like to ask him? What is the best destination in your country, what should we not miss?
