Employee interview
Isidor Lundqvist
Isidor Lundqvist has been an application engineer at Nomo in Sweden since August 2022. Jari Pelttari, our previous guest in this series, asks: If you could change one thing in your country, what would it be? Tough question! I'm pretty happy with Sweden overall, but if I could change one thing, I wouldn’t say no to a few extra hours of sunshine in the winter. What has your experience of joining the Nomo team been like? It has been exciting. I am based at the head office in Täby, which means that I have many different skills around me and get a good insight into all professional roles. Going from education to a job in the business world is a great challenge. What did you do previously? I studied Mechanical Engineering at KTH in Stockholm, so this is my first job since qualifying. What image of Nomo did you have before? I didn't really know anything about the company until I saw the advert when I applied for a job. It was fun and interesting to see that Nomo is a company with a relatively large market share and many well-known companies in its customer portfolio. What do you appreciate most in your work? I enjoy solving problems and issues for customers. Sometimes this requires specialised items and unusual solutions. It may involve working together with suppliers and colleagues to find a good solution. It is a good feeling when you succeed and the customer is satisfied. What are your personal strengths? I'm analytical, good at taking in facts and working out what's important to focus on. What does your working day look like? Most of the time I work in the office and do a lot of tasks by email, phone or team meetings, but sometimes I also go on customer visits. Do you have any hidden talents? I can go from a standing position into a bridge. What is your best environmental tip for sustainable development? I don't have a car but try to cycle, walk or use public transport to get where I need to go. What do you do in your spare time? Among other things, I play 7-a-side football. At the moment, I'm running and training for a Swedish classic in 2024 when my first challenge will be Vasaloppet. I also spend time with family and friends. What is your favourite food? My favourite food is Asian food, otherwise I eat most things. What music do you listen to? I'm quite eclectic in my tastes, but mainly choose hip-hop or old songs with funk What makes you happy? When the weather is nice, I’m off work and can do something fun! Our next guest is Mikael Dahlkvist, what question would you like to ask him? If you could choose a new career path today, what would you choose?
