Employee interview
Daniel Moghaddam
Daniel Moghaddam has worked as an Inside Sales representative at Nomo’s office in Smørum, west of Copenhagen, Denmark, since summer 2021. Therése Lehmann, our previous guest in this series, asks: What do you think is the biggest challenge as an Inside Sales representative? Guiding our customers, who have very different needs, in the best way possible poses the challenge of navigating our large product range and knowing the technical detail of the products. At the same time, you have to navigate our IT system. What made you apply for a job at Nomo? I saw a natural connection between my education and the company’s operations. What did you do previously? I studied global business engineering at the Technical University of Denmark. The studies included market analysis and business processes from a global perspective of cultural differences, as well as business subjects with courses in technology relating to industrial manufacturing. Previously I worked as a Sales Assistant at Elgiganten A/S for two years. I studied pharmaceutical manufacturing during a six month internship at the pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk A/S. I’ve also worked as a personal fitness trainer and lifeguard. How has the experience of joining the Nomo team been? It has been a fantastic experience, I’ve built great relationships with my colleagues. I know now that I can support operations in different areas, from internal sales and finance to external sales and warehouse. What is your strength? My education and the fact that I am sociable, a good listener and like to contribute positive energy. What are the main challenges for Nomo? It is important to build strong cohesion and a joint strategy between the individual companies and different cultures within Nomo. For example, having a joint marketing strategy for Nomo Group to ensure future growth and expansion. Do you have any hidden talents? One talent is perhaps my ability to communicate across cultural borders because I’m 50% Danish and 50% Iranian. What sort of culinary do you enjoy? I really enjoy trying foods from different cultures. I like to combine meat with good salads and freshly baked bread. The last time I tried a new type of food was when I was invited to an Ethiopian dinner party. I am comfortable with both Danish and Persian cuisine. What would you do if you won a million crowns? I’d invest the money in something meaningful such as shares in a company which develops treatments for diabetes, obesity, growth defects and haemophilia (a clotting disorder). Our next guest is Raikko Fridfelt; Inside Sales Manager at Nomo in Finland, what question would you like to ask him? What steps do you think Nomo Group needs to take to make progress in e-commerce?
