Employee interview

Antti Sutela

Antti Sutela is Product Manager for seals, working at Nomo in Finland.

Pontus Lönnberg, our previous guest in this series, asked you the question: What is the best destination in your country that we should not miss?
I think Tampere is currently the hottest city in Finland. Plenty of good restaurants and lots going on is clubs all around the city. Tampere also has the largest bearing warehouse in the Nordic region and you can guess who owns it!

What has your journey within Nomo looked like over the years?
I have worked at Nomo for 13 years, but worked in the industry since 1987. I was a co-owner of the company Tasanto Oy, which Nomo bought in 2010. After that, I worked for a few years as a regional sales manager in northern Finland. Since the organizational change was made within Nomo, I have worked as product manager for seals and my area of responsibility is the Nordic region. I enjoy my work very well and feel that as product manager for seals I have found my right role in the company.

What are the main challenges facing Nomo?
Nomo is known as a bearing expert. The biggest challenge is getting customers to know that we are also experts in seals, power transmission and related services.

What is the company's best product?
Our best product is service and expertise, in other words Nomo's employees. Our competitors also have good products, to stand out is therefore about serving customers in the best way, better than others and constantly being ready to solve customers' problems.

Who is your role model?
I don't have a specific role model, but I know many of them in every Nomo office!

What do you do in your free time?
We live in a big old house, which I try to heat with wood as much as possible. It is quite time-consuming work to do. I also play guitar in a band, the rest of the time I try to be a good father and a driver to our daughters.

What food do you prefer to eat?
I'm waiting for the weather to warm up so I can start the barbeque season. My summer dishes also include new potatoes and herring, nothing else is needed and it's the best of it.

Our next guest will be Janvier Mugiraneza; he is working at the warehouse in Tampere, Finland. What question would you like to ask him?
What is it like to work at our warehouse in Finland, considering that you have such an important role to ensure that our customers get the right products?
