Employee interview

Anita Mansikka

Anita Mansikka works as an accountant at Nomo in Finland.

Maria Hedberg, our previous guest in this series, asks: What is the best film you’ve seen?
I’ve seen a lot of really good films, but one of the best is A Beautiful Mind. It is a fantastic story about John Nash, who has schizophrenia. The tension continues until the final minutes of the film and the viewer start to doubt what is true and what is an illusion.

What made you apply for a job at Nomo?
Mainly it was that I wanted to focus on one company instead of several companies and just within one industry.

Where have you worked previously?
Previously, I worked for seven years at an accounting company (auditors and payroll auditor). I was also an export secretary at Metsä Fibre and a banker at Nordea.

How has the experience of becoming part of the Nomo team been?
All my colleagues have made it easy for me to feel welcome and part of the community.

What is the best thing about your job?
Clarity. I now have just one company to focus on in my work and don’t have to do everything by myself anymore.

What are the main challenges in your work?
The month end, with everything that it involves for my professional role as an accountant.

What is your strength?
I am happy and prepared to do anything and can learn new things.

Do you have any hidden talents?
I was an export secretary for several years so I know a lot about export.

What do you do in your free time?
I sing in a choir and in the summer I spend a lot of time at my summer house.

What sort of food do you enjoy?
I like homemade food. I always cook from scratch and often invite our friends for dinner. I like to try new meals and a favourite is Coq au vin.

What would you do if you won a million crowns?
I have four children, so I would help them out. I would also travel with my husband. One project I’d like to do is to dredge the beach by our summer house.

Our next guest is Bård Fleischer; Finance Manager at Nomo in Norway, what question would you like to ask him?
How would your colleagues describe you?
